Élevé Studio of Dance is a welcoming and inclusive non-competitive studio that provides the Mount Carmel and Wabash County, Illinois communities with a holistic and engaging dance education. We offer a variety of dance classes for beginner to advanced dancers ages three to adult.
ESD has grown from humble beginnings, as founder and director Paige Rodgers held independent ballet classes at the former Excel Gymnastics Club in 2017, until moving to the Parkview Legion building the following year. There, classes were held under the name, Wabash County Dance, until debuting under the new name, Élevé Studio of Dance, in 2023. This name derives from the French word “élevér” which means to uplift, to raise, & to reach higher. What better word than this to encapsulate our mission of uplifting both our dancers and our community!
Today, classes are held in the Legion’s spacious front room with large mirrors and wall-mounted ballet barres. Since 2017, the studio has grown from only 2 ballet classes and 10 students, to now offering 17 classes including ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical with over 60 students enrolled!
Élevé Studio of Dance has been devoted to introducing the world of dance into the community with annual spring recitals, winter showcases, and community projects such as “Nutcracker at the Nursing Home”. ESD strives to enrich our community and bring the joy and love of dance in everything we do. It is our mission at Élevé Studio of Dance to grow and lift up our dancers in the development of their dance skills, the enjoyment of the art form, and to make positive impacts on their community through learned character and attitude.
